The Lemon Walk of the Amalfi Coast, Mediterranean Blooms, and Analogous Colors
My daughter will celebrate her 2nd Wedding Anniversary in July. Last summer she and her husband travelled Europe for their honeymoon. They had an amazing time on the Amalfi Coast. They travelled the Lemon Walk there and have wonderful wonderful memories of the lemon stand woman. She had the same name as my daughter. Mediterranean Coast DSP brings the whole feel of limone d’Italia. I made this card for their anniversary. With any luck, my daughter will be too busy moving back home to the Northeast from Texas to notice that I have posted this here.
The Mediterranean Coast DSP has a collection of colors that are vibrant that spread across all the color families. I chose a selection of three of the designs that have analagous colors. Analogous colors are colors that can be found next to each other on the color wheel. Lemon Lolly and Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Balmy Blue, and Night of Navy or yellows, green, and blues are analogous colors. I really had fun mixing the patterns of the blues and white. In my youth I travelled to Italy and the patterns bring to mind fond memories of that trip.
The star of this card is of course the DSP. I would have used the Citrus Blooms Stamp Set if there was a lemon stamp, but alas I resorted to fussy cutting from one of the paper designs. As many of you know I love to color, so if there was a lemon stamp, I would have played with color. It only means I will have to take this stamp set soon and use the complimentary colors of blue and orange. As part of the Mediterranean Blooms Suite along with the Citrus Bloom Bundle that includes the die that frames the lemons, the Mediterranean Blooms DSP, and the Opal Rounds that I used to embellish the flowers.
The sentiments on the card front came from Layers of Beuaty Stamp set and I used the Deckled Rectangle dies to frame the sentiment. On the inside along with a sentiment from the same stamp set, I added the flowers from the Citrus Bloom stamp set. The flowers give the inside a whimsical feel. I like to make sure that I add some sort of image to the inside that coordinates with the cover. This was a fun card to create with all the different elements. It is perfect my daughter’s Anniversary. Keep your eye out for another design from this amazing set. I can’t wait to put some color to the stamps in this set.
