Beyond the Pumpkin!

After running a Paper Pumpkin club for a few years, I am answering a call to my friends and clubmates.  What do we do once the kit is complete?  We still have the stamps and the inkspots and sometimes a few left over embellishments.  This is not about alternative projects, a great idea about Going Rogue and changing up the kit.  It’s about not letting these fantastic little stamp sets collect dust in a box once the kit is complete.  This summer I will be tearing my craft room apart and reorganizing it to feature the wonderful resources that come month after month in the little orange box.  So without further ado…. Something So Sweet!

I love this stamp set from the June Paper Pumpkin! I started with a simple card that needed little more than your Paper Pumpkin Stamps, some ink and some Glitter Enamel Dots to add a little bling.  The sentiment comes from the April Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set.  I switched up the ink colors, using the new in colors Berry Blast and Lemon Lime Twist.

I love creating a more finished card with an inside stamp.  Stamping off once gives it a softer appearance and gives great depth to the thank you.  I like the inside so much that I could almost use it for a card front. This is simple and great for  an “I need a thank you card before I run out the door. But with a few additions you can take this idea and step it up a little.

I started with the Color Theory Designer Series Pack and pulled the Crushed Curry blended page.  It looked so summery to me.  I used the same stamps from the June Paper Pumpkin in Crushed Curry ink to stamp color on color.  Cutting out the watermelon after stamping on Whisper White Cardstock was easy with the Layering Circles Framelits.  I actually stamped 2 (one on top of each other) which was really easy because they are

photopolymer stamps. Then I cut them out with the Circle Framelit and cut it in half with the Snips.  Dimensionals helped to give the colored watermelons a little more pop! The sentiment on the front is stamped in Fresh Fig.  I stamped off once on the colors in the melon under the sentiment so that the words would have better contrast.  The 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon in Berry Blast brings it all together. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am loving the new in-colors! The lovely words came from the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I love the Just Add Text stamp set.  I have used it a few times already.  I echoed the Crushed Curry watermelon slice with the Lemon Lime Twist to bring out the summer colors again.
