Summer time and the crafting is easy! Imagine, a Sunday afternoon and I am not working! At least not outside the house. For those of you that know me, I am always going from one job to the next. This summer has been a blessing because my weekends have been less booked. So summer, as short as it is (I taught until June 30th this year because of snow), is my time to relax and create. I have decided this year I am doing Christmas in July. For the last two years I had every intention to design, create and send out personal notes to all my friends and family. Well my crazy busy schedule got the best of me and I failed miserably. Only I don’t like looking at it that way. I succeeded in some many other things in November and December of 2014, Christmas cards just didn’t make the list. So why not take the time to send out lovely cards with personal handwritten notes to friends and family when I have the time? How many of you have seen a sentiment that goes something like this: “Wishing you the Joy of Christmas throughout the coming year”? Well I’ve decided to send a bit of that joy during the summer months. I can also say that my “Christmas card” will be the first that friends receive, rather than the last (at about St. Patrick’s Day).
By now some of you are wondering what this all has to do with paper crafting. Well, After church this morning, I gathered up my June 2015 Paper Pumpkin box, a pair of snips, 1 snail, 2 clear blocks, 1 sheet of Stampin Up Grid Paper, and (just because I’m a little obsessive about cleaning my stamps) Stampin scrub with Stampin mist. It all fit neatly in my small LLBean tote bag with plenty of room to spare. With my sons at work and my daughter off gallivanting around Europe, I decided to head to my favorite local cafe. Cafe 641 of Hudson, MA is a fabulous place to have Sunday breakfast and pass the morning hours with coffee and paper crafts. Everything I needed was in the bright red box. In a couple of hours I completed four lovely cards and lined envelopes. My goal is to write out the cards and mail them off before next Sunday comes when I will set out to create again. If this sounds like fun, why not join me! Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription that comes directly to your door. Every month is a wonderful surprise. Each month I have a Paper Pumpkin night. Subscribers and curious crafters gather at my house for a light dinner and Paper Pumpkin assembly. The next one is scheduled for August 24th. Email me if you would like to reserve a seat at the crafting table. If you would like to subscribe, you can do so online through my personal link:
