Welcome back! Or should I say I am back! This week has been a little tough. Since I am a new blogger, I set out a lofty goal for myself to get all of these darling monthly cards out in one week (especially “lofty” in a week when grades were due… for my other job). However, as much as one plans, one cannot avoid the unexpected. Just in case I didn’t have enough to do, I had to add a funeral to my calendar this week. A positive take away from this week is that all too often we only make time for family and friends at weddings and funerals, even though we vow to get together soon.
This project is a way to keep what is important front and center at least once a month. In January we make resolutions for the things we should do; September is when we make resolutions for the things we want to do! I focused on “No work and All Play” for September and “The Next New Great Adventure” for October.
Memories in the Making inspired September. I used the Project Life stamp set of the same name to begin the layering on the striped card base with the hearts and suns. I used the washi tape from the accessories to secure the “You Are My Happy” card also from the accessories pack. These little 1″ square cards are adorable. The yellow hearts behind September was also punched from the little stack using the small oval punch. The final touch was the wooden heart again from the accessories pack all wrapped in Daffodil Delight cotton ribbon.
Memories in the Making stamp set provided the Me + You and playful flowers stamps for October. Although it does not show up so well I played a little with the “Wink of Stella” to add a little glimmer. Adventure is the theme for October. The heart stamp is from “Going Global” I love this set! It is so versatile. The pink cotton ribbon and Basic Pearl Jewels complete the presentation.
Inside September, “Life Doesn’t Have to be Perfect” can be found in the Perfect Pennants stamp set. October was a bit of an experiment. I love “The Adventure Begins ” stamp from your so lovely. I “misstamped”. It should have been put it a little higher on the card and to the left to avoid the black triangles. However, I love the way these triangles point in one direction or another. Just like an adventure. Instead of the .01 pen I used the .05 for this one to make the words stand out a little more. The camera clip came from the “Let’s Get Away” Project Life Accessory Pack. It is a perfect way to attach a memento from this Great Adventure.
Finally, I can add this to the group. I have 2 more posts that I will complete before the end of this week. Thanks so much for hanging in there with me! I hope you are enjoying these projects.
