The summer months are the perfect time to escape the drudgery of everyday life. For July, I used the “Going Places” stamp set in white craft ink along with Rhinestone Basic Jewels to conger up the feeling of the night sky. The base card from the Memories in the Making Card Collection, adds the perfect moon to set the stage. The back ground for the July label also came the card collection and the cotton ribbon in Daffodil Delight completes the look. Inside the “moon” is echoed in Blushing Bride (card design, not a stamp technique). It creates a perfect frame for a stamp and message.
August is all about playing in the sun. I stamped off once in Tempting turquoise to create the lovely bouquet of flowers from the “Grateful Bunch” stamp set. (Tip: Arrange all three of the stamps on one clear block. I aim to spread out the 3 different flowers, and this way I don’t run out of room before I get to the last flower.) “Me and You” is a super cute stamp from the “Stake Your Claim” stamp set. I added to the flower motif with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch to embellish the corners. I am loving the cotton ribbon and I used it this time in Blushing Bride. The wooden arrow is a playful embellishment from the Memories in the Making accessories pack.
I think one thing I forget in my daily life, whether completing lesson plans or make costumes for my daughter’s plays, is that being that OCD kind of person sometimes leaves far too little room for creativity. A favorite saying in our Stamp Club is “Going Rogue”! I can thank Leslie (fabulous artist and photographer) for that bit of advise. So August is all about GOING ROGUE! The stamp on the inside “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” also from the “Stake your Claim” stamp set is a wonderful reminder for us all. Have fun creating your cards and remember to do it your way. Go Rogue!
