Welcome To Spring

At least I hope it is soon Spring.  Here in the Northeast, we are expecting more snow this weekend.  I couldn’t decide on which stamp set I wanted to use as I planned this card. I know that I am going to be doing playing with these stamps sets a lot in the coming weeks.  I started with the Barn Door stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  I love how the Sliding Door Framelits give you so many options for card designs.  I worked the stamp side by side to create the double doors. I used the Stampin” Write Markers to color directly on to  the wreath stamp in spring colors.

The inspiration here came from my nephew’s upcoming nuptials.  He plans to have a barn wedding. So the Charming Cafe stamp set brought elegance to the simple Barn Door.

I used the Stampin” Blends to bring spring time color to this card. This is a great set for coloring, which I find so relaxing.  You can see that the cafe seen is actually stamped on the inside of the card. There are so many layers to this card, but it wasn’t that difficult to construct.

 One last tip I can give you is how I added the handles for the barn doors.  

  I didn’t want to use the fine tip glue so I decided to use glue dots.  I needed to make them a little smaller.  So I cut them in half and attached one half to each end of the handle.  It worked perfectly!
