The Kindest Gnomes Celebrate Christmas in July
The Knidest Gnomes in a forest of snowflakes send the warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Finally getting back on my feet and back to the craft room after my daughter’s wedding (check out the wedding post blog) and a bout with Covid. The first thing I wanted to do was grab a water painter! Since July has been Watercolor Month it was just another reason to pull out all the ink pads and get my water painter wet.
When you water color with inks it is hard to stamp in Momento Tuxedo Black and then use water color techniques. The black ink will run because it is waterbased. Stazon is usually the ink of choice for stamping before water color techniques. The other option is to use embossing powder for the image. The embossing powder will act as a resist barrier for the water color. I find it easier clean-up than the Stazon ink.
The fun fold gives this card yet another layer of interesting design and this set is so versatile, with different colors and papers you can use it all year round. The Kindest Gnome Suite is found in the July to December Mini Catalog. There are so many amazing stamps in this catalog. At the end of this post you can find a link to all the products I used in this card. Monday night July 25th at 7:45pm I will be demonstrating how I made this fun card in a Facebook Live.
