Summertime and the Living is Easy!
Summertime means gardening and flowers to me. This year, the unfortunate and difficult months of being resigned to living within the property lines of my home has led to a wondrous blooming of flowers and vegetables in my gardens. I am able to spend more time with my plants and the color abounds in my yard. I can count my blessings as look around at the gifts mother nature has bestowed upon me this year. Stampin’ Up! has gifted us with the Artistry Blooms Suite.
I am thrilled that Stampin’ Up! has brought the beautiful blooms to this years annual catalog. The Hand-drawn Blooms Stamp Set and Banner Bloom Dies have really excited me and got my creative juices flowing. Today I started with the center piece of the dies and a lot of color.
I loaded up the Fine Tip Water Painter with a myriad of colors to create a lovely bouquet of flowers to send to a friend. I put the all the colors in analogous groupings: Magenta Madness, Melon Mambo, and Gorgeous Grape; Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, and Melon Mambo; Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, and Pacific Point; Garden Green, and Granny Apple Green. It was such a delightful and relaxing time as I gently allowed the ink colors to blend together and watch the flowers come to life.
I have just fallen in love with the Artistry Blooms DSP. This particular design lets the bouquet pop and stand apart. I used the Shimmery Whisper White paper for the die cut, as I like how well it holds up to the watercolor technique. In this close-up you can see how I allowed the colors to blend. I will be demonstrating this technique in a live later on this afternoon. Check out my Gigi Stamps Page for the scheduled Live event
Because I love shiny things, I took my Wink of Stella to each of the blooms and then I also used the adhesive backed sequins from the Artistry Blooms Suite.
Although this is very simple in design, I believe the artistry in the coloring of these blooms makes this a card to be treasured.
